چکیده

Saururus chinensis (SC), a traditional medicine, has been used for the treatment of edema, jaundice, gonorrhea, and several inflammatory diseases in China Korea. Our previous studies reported anti-osteoporotic activity SC extract (SCE) ovariectomized (OVX) rats but mechanism this effect was unclear. The aim study to explore SCE elucidate underlying mechanisms using metabolomics approach based on ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC/ESI-Q-TOF MS) analyze metabolic changes. Female Sprague-Dawley (SD) were divided into sham, OVX, groups. Partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) orthogonal partial (OPLS-DA) score plots separated OVX sham groups fairly well. Further, 22 potential biomarkers identified rat models estrogen deficiency-induced osteoporosis, showed regulatory effects three vital pathways associated these biomarkers, namely, glycerophospholipid metabolism, glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchor biosynthesis, linoleic acid metabolism. reliably confirmed that exerted its by intervening lipid thus preventing osteoporosis. This also promising an evaluation natural medicine efficacy.

Metabolomic Profiles Delineate Signature Metabolic Shifts during Estrogen Deficiency-Induced Bone Loss in Rat by GC-TOF/MS

Postmenopausal osteoporosis is a complicated and multi-factorial disease. To study the metabolic profiles and pathways activated in osteoporosis, Eight rats were oophorectomized (OVX group) to represent postmenopausal osteoporosis and the other eight rats were sham operated (Sham group) to be the control. The biochemical changes were assessed with metabolomics using a gas chromatography/time-of...

Identification of chemical constituents in cuscuta chinensis using HPLC-ESI/Q-TOF MS/MS

AIM: To identify the chemical constituents in Cuscuta Chinensis. METHODS: A High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method combined with quadrupole-time-of-flight-mass spectrometry (QTOF-MS) has been developed for precise separation and structural identification of components in Cuscuta Chinensis. Mass spectrometry was performed in reflective time-of-flight using electron spraying ionizat...

Hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects of Saururus chinensis Baill in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats

Saururus chinensis Baill was reported to inhibit alpha-glucosidase in vitro and flatten postprandial increase in blood glucose in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. We studied the effect of chronic consumption of S. chinensis Baill on blood glucose and lipid profile in STZ-induced diabetic male rats fed high fat diet. Male rats weighing 100-120 g were fed 30% fat diet with and without ...

Propranolol Prevents Osteoporosis and up-regulates Leptin in Ovariectomized Rats

Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease and there is a close relationship between the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and bone metabolism. Leptin has been shown to regulate bone formation and bone resorption via the SNS. However, the effect of SNS on leptin signaling has not been clearly understood. In the present study, we studied the effect of propranolol on ovariectomy-induced osteoporo...
